Payment and refund

New Client, Parents, and Student undertake to pay the applicable course fees, including the deposit, upon signing the Registration Form and, in any event, within three (3) working days from the date of the invoice issued by Starlight Centre Pte Ltd.

Existing Client, Parents, and Student undertakes to pay all other applicable fees to Starlight Centre Pte Ltd within two (2) weeks from the date of the invoice issued by Starlight Centre Pte Ltd.

The Existing Client, Parents, and Student undertake to pay all other applicable fees to Starlight Centre Pte Ltd before the 5th of every month. A late payment fee of $15 will be incurred if payment is made after the 5th of the month.

A Student cannot commence or continue classes with Starlight Centre Pte Ltd while fees are outstanding and unpaid. A Student’s place in any particular Core Programme, Holiday Programme and Special Programme shall not be confirmed until and unless Starlight Centre Pte Ltd receives full payment of all applicable fees.

New Clients, Parents, and Students undertake to pay the monthly Student Care fees. If the student is unable to come to the Student Care Centre (is going on a holiday or vacation or is quarantined at home or in the hospital due to the COVID-19 situation, illnesses, or any other reasons), parents have to continue paying the monthly Student Care Service fee.

There will be no pro-rated or refund of student care service fees if the student cannot attend the service for that entire month. (For example, if a student is unwell and is on medical leave for one week and comes to the student care centre for three weeks, he has to pay for the entire month of student care service fee, and the fee will not be pro-rated or refunded in any case.

A $1 per minute charge will be charged for late fetch after dismissal time.

Notice of Withdrawal

One calendar month’s written notice of withdrawal is given to Starlight Centre Pte Ltd.

  1. This allows for the appropriate administration of any outstanding fees owing to the centre or the student.
  2. The deposit retained will offset the final monthly before/after school care fee payable.
  3. If less than one calendar month’s notice is given, Starlight Centre Pte Ltd shall not be obliged to refund any part of the deposit.
  4. A duly completed withdrawal form is submitted to Starlight Centre Pte Ltd. by one (1) calendar month.
  5. The withdrawal form can be obtained from the Supervisor of each Centre.

 There should be no other outstanding payments. If there are outstanding payments, the deposit will be used to offset the final monthly Student Care Service fees payable, and parents will have to settle the outstanding payment before the child leaves the centre.

Conduct of Tuition Classes

There will be no make-up lesson for any missed lesson.

Fees for unattended lessons are strictly non-refundable.

When the child is sick or quarantined due to the current COVID situation or absent from classes, there will strictly be no make-up class or lesson replacement.

There will be no classes held on (i) public holidays (whether general, gazetted or otherwise declared or observed in Singapore), (ii)school holidays, (iii) if a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the day next following (not being itself a public holiday), or (iv) such other days as designated by Starlight Centre Pte Ltdas a non-schooling day for any reason (including without limitation weather/emergency/safety reasons, for school retreats/excursions or other administrative non-working days etc.). Unless otherwise indicated, no replacement classes will be scheduled, and no class fees will be refunded.

Starlight Centre Pte Ltd reserves the right to transfer, suspend and terminate the Student with immediate effect from or to any or all classes if the Client, Parents, and Student breach any provisions of the Contract, or Starlight Centre Pte Ltd deems, in its sole discretion, that the Client, Parents or Student demonstrates behaviour that is detrimental to the welfare or safety of the Staff or other parents and students of Starlight Centre Pte Ltd, or prejudicial to good order or the reputation Starlight Centre Pte Ltd, or for any other reason that Starlight Centre Pte Ltd deems fit and proper in its absolute discretion. Suppose the student is terminated from Starlight Centre Pte Ltd under this clause. In that case, Starlight Centre Pte Ltd will not be under any obligation to return any deposit or fees paid to Starlight Centre Pte Ltd.

Without prejudice to the generality of this clause, examples of when Starlight Centre Pte Ltd may exercise its right include (but are not limited to) cases where the Client, Parents and Student:

  1. Cause or threaten to cause physical injury to other parents, students and Staff for any reason;
  2. Use threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards other parents, students and Staff;
  3. Harasses cause alarm or distress to other parents, students and Staff;
  4. Fail to comply with any policy, guidelines, code of conduct, regulation, notice, direction or instruction given by Starlight Centre Pte Ltdor any Staff about the conduct of classes or the use of Starlight Centre Pte Ltd’s premises or items or any matter relating to the provision of the Services;
  5. Persistently behaves in a manner that is disruptive and prevents the continuation of classes or the provision of the Services;
  6. Use, disclose or disseminate any Starlight Centre Pte Ltd’s trademarks or copyright material without obtaining our prior written consent or
  7. Do not pay any outstanding fees payable to us; they remain unpaid as of the first week of the month’s commencement.
  8. Should Starlight Centre Pte Ltd (in its sole discretion) consider any investigations necessary or appropriate, the student may be transferred, suspended, or terminated from any or all classes pending such investigation.

Rights to Accept or Reject

  1. Starlight Centre Pte Ltd reserves the right to accept or reject any registration without explanation.
  2. Starlight Centre Pte Ltd reserves the right to do any or all of the following, in its sole discretion, as it may from time to time deem necessary:
  3. Make all changes to the conduct of classes, including but not limited to transferring, combining, dividing or dissolving a class, changing the teachers or specialist trainers, rescheduling classes, and varying how classes are conducted, such variation to include the conducting of classes online (E-Classes)
  4. Refuse entry to the student if the student is deemed to be unwell or if Starlight Centre Pte Ltd has reason to believe that the student has been in contact with or has been exposed to another student or person who is harbouring, likely to harbour or suspected of harbouring the agents of an Infectious Disease.
  5. Amend or vary the venues and contents of the classes according to programme priorities and student needs.
  6. Starlight Centre Pte Ltd may, where feasible, give written notice to the Client, Parent and Student before effecting or carrying out any of the above changes.

Starlight Centre Pte Ltd does not guarantee that a student can attend any particular class or timeslot or receive classes from any specific Staff. Starlight Centre Pte Ltd reserves the right to place a student in an appropriate class or timeslot (in its absolute discretion) depending on the availability of classes, the class capacity, available Staff and Starlight Centre Pte Ltd’s assessment (in its absolute discretion) of the suitability of the student in ability, conduct, temperament or any other particular reason for any specific class.

Intellectual Property and Media Rights

The Client, Parents and Students acknowledge that Starlight Centre Pte Ltd owns all rights, title and interest in and to all lessons, classes (including E-Classes), tutorials, courses, and Course Materials, all of which are protected by the relevant copyright and intellectual property laws, and shall not be shared, sold, copied, recorded, reproduced or disclosed by the Client, Parents and Students by any means or for any purpose without the express written consent Starlight Centre Pte Ltd. The Client, Parents and Students now acknowledge and agree that all copies (whether physical or digital) of the Course Materials, including all additional online or electronic materials provided by Starlight Centre Pte Ltd under Clause 8 above, are offered through loan and not sale.] We now grant a non-exclusive licence to the Client, Parents and Students to use the Course Materials for the purposes contemplated under this Contract and for no other purpose. The Client, Parents and Students shall not sell, assign, gift, sub-license or otherwise transfer to any third party any rights in the Course Materials without the prior written consent of Starlight Centre Pte Ltd.

Starlight Centre Pte Ltd further reserves all rights and interests over any intellectual property created arising as a result of the work or actions of the student in conjunction with any of our staff and other students for a purpose, class, event, course and activity associated with or offered by Starlight Centre Pte Ltd. To the extent that the student’s Work includes any copyright or other intellectual property rights entitled to protection under any copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws of Singapore or elsewhere, the student and the parents on behalf of the student at this moment assigned and agree to assign to Starlight Centre Pte Ltd absolutely and free from encumbrances the Student’s Work. Any use of any such intellectual property rights by a Client, Parents, and Student is subject to the prior written consent of Starlight Centre Pte Ltd upon such terms and conditions as may be specified by Starlight Centre Pte Ltd. Starlight Centre Pte Ltd may, at its discretion, allow the student’s role in creation/development of intellectual property rights to be acknowledged.

Any unauthorised use, sharing, sale, copying, recording, reproduction or disclosure of the Course Materials (or any part thereof) or Starlight Centre Pte Ltd intellectual property rights, including any unauthorised use of any trademark owned or used by Starlight Centre Pte Ltd, shall, in addition to any other rights and remedies available to Starlight Centre Pte Ltdat law, in equity or under statute, be valid grounds for the suspension or termination of a Student.

The Client, Parents and Student further acknowledge that it shall have no right to use any trademark owned or used by Starlight Centre Pte without the express written consent of Starlight Centre Pte Ltd.

The Client, Parents, and Student consent to Starlight Centre Pte Ltd using the student’s name, work, photographs, academic records, photographs, audio/visual recordings, and other material for promotional and other purposes, such as publicising Starlight Centre Pte Ltd and its students’ accomplishments to internal and external audiences, including in print and online, whether during the student’s enrolment with Starlight Centre Pte Ltd or after that.

Parents and Students are not allowed to speak to the media.

Communication

Starlight Centre Pte Ltd should not be held responsible for any unforeseen accidents, injuries, illness or mishaps to its students during operating hours. Parents shall consent to leave their child in our care in agreement to indemnify the centre against any claim for mishaps or accidental occurrences to their child.

Starlight Centre Pte Ltd is not responsible for any loss of personal items brought by any students.

Starlight Centre Pte Ltd will do our utmost and reasonable best to ensure safety throughout your child’s stay at our place.

Please inform us if your child has any allergies.

Change of Particulars

The centre should be informed of any change of particulars relating to the child or parents, such as address, parent marital status or income.

Emergency

  1. In the event of a medical emergency, Starlight Centre Pte Ltd staff members are granted permission to attend to the child’s medical needs.
  2. Our staff do not administer any form of medicine to your child.
  3. Should your child fall sick during his/her time in the centre, we will contact you or the person to be contacted in case of emergency as soon as possible.
