Starlight Centre teacher guiding students in a classroom lesson
Our Programs

A structured pathway for every afternoon

Five evidence-based pillars, woven into a calm daily rhythm from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM, designed for students with autism in mainstream and special-education settings.

Nurturing Academic Excellence

Homework support and targeted coaching aligned with each child's school curriculum, so they keep pace and grow confident in the classroom.

Our team works alongside each child's mainstream or special-education curriculum. We reinforce daily homework, pre-teach upcoming topics, and break complex assignments into manageable steps. Regular progress reviews keep learning on track and build genuine academic confidence.

  • RISE™

Social and community skills — following social rules, identifying safe people, setting physical boundaries, dealing with bullying, and using money safely. Taught through role-play, games, and group discussion, with resources and support for parents and caregivers.

  • EXAM™

Academic skills development and learning support — completing daily homework, building good learner repertoires, revising subjects, preparing for tests, developing test-taking skills, and setting academic goals to help learners reach their full potential.

Fostering Social & Communication Skills

Structured group activities and guided peer interaction that build genuine connection, turn-taking, and self-expression.

Through small-group play, shared mealtimes, and facilitated peer interaction, children practice the social rhythms that don't come naturally — greeting, requesting, waiting, and reading cues. Communication goals are individualised, from first words to conversation.

Equipping for Life Beyond School

Practical life skills — from self-care and organisation to community navigation — that prepare children for independence.

We embed independence into every afternoon: packing bags, following a visual schedule, managing belongings, and practising community skills. These small, repeated routines compound into the self-management that carries children long after they leave Starlight.

Good Learner Repertoire

The foundational behaviours that make learning possible: sitting, attending, following instructions, and responding to feedback.

Before any academic progress, a child needs the behaviours of a learner. We explicitly teach and reinforce attending, following multi-step instructions, accepting corrections, and persisting through challenges — the quiet foundation everything else rests on.

Early Detection of Skill Deficits

Ongoing assessment by our BCBA-led team to identify gaps early and intervene before they become barriers.

Our clinicians continuously monitor each child's skill development against developmental milestones. When a deficit appears, we design a focused intervention early — preventing the frustration and avoidance that follow when gaps go unnoticed.
